A scientific article by Elke Höfler, Education Technologies Cluster Spokesperson, and Manuel Ninaus, Education Technologies Cluster Spokesperson, was recently published in the National Education Report Austria 2024. The article is entitled "Artificial Intelligence in Education: A Localisation" and can be accessed online via the National Education Report on the website of the Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research and is also available in print.
Central to her article is the view that human expertise and human intervention are essential in the design and implementation process of AI in educational processes, leading to so-called hybrid AI systems in which artificial intelligence and human expertise go hand in hand.
The Austrian National Education Report has been published every three years since 2009 - the current edition for 2024 is the sixth in total. The report is divided into three sections: education controlling report, education indicators and selected fields of development, with the third section consisting of contributions from academics. The Austrian National Education Report is published by the Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research (BMBWF) in cooperation with the Federal Institute for Quality Assurance in the Austrian School System (IQM).
